The TerraNova standardized tests will be administered on Monday, May 1 through Wednesday, May 3 in grades 3 through 8. Testing for grades 9 and 10 will be held Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3. Testing begins immediately after homeroom.
The TerraNova test contains subtests in reading, language, math, science, and social studies and also assesses word analysis, vocabulary, language mechanics, spelling, and math computation. Results will be returned to each parent in May, demonstrating the individual accomplishments of his or her student and the performance of the school. We take this testing very seriously, as students practice standardized test taking skills and demonstrate their increasing knowledge. These test results become a permanent part of each student’s academic record along with his or her report cards and transcript.
Please encourage your child to take this test seriously and to do his or her best. Please ensure that your child arrives at school promptly for homeroom each day. We ask each student to get a good night’s sleep and to eat a good, protein-rich breakfast to help him or her achieve top academic performance.
