BCA uses a system called PreK-12 Notification to alert parents of school closings or changes in school activities. In addition, closings are also posted on our Facebook page.
The PreK-12 system allows us to call up to four phone numbers for your family. The system automatically loads your primary home phone number, but you must elect to include additional phone numbers. We strongly recommend that you enter cell phone numbers so that you may receive a call even if your land lines are down. Please take a few minutes to add your cell phone numbers to ensure that you receive school messages.
Instructions for adding phone numbers to BCA’s alert system:
- Call the PreK-12 Notification Parent Hotline at 1-800-846-4976 to setup a PIN code. For security reasons, you must call from your Primary phone number to manage your personal emergency contact list.
- Once your PIN is set, you can manage your information by going to www.prek12notification.com. Use your primary phone number as the Login ID as well as the PIN you created on the phone.

In addition to using the universal phone call system, we will post school closing announcements on WBZ radio (AM 1030), WBZ TV Channel 4, and WHDH TV channel 7. Taken together, these various forms of communication should deliver messages in the event of a power outage.
