Tim Angerhofer values relationships with students as unique, real people who are learning. He aims to create the conditions so that students can learn and own it through direct experience— solving problems they have not seen before by applying their prior knowledge and skills in new ways through inquiry, exploration, resolution, fluency, and assessment. Tim holds two Massachusetts teaching licenses in each of Mathematics and Spanish. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics as well as a minor and Certification of Proficiency in Spanish from Purdue University. Tim brings a great amount of experience to his teaching, having taught math and Spanish for sixteen years in Amesbury Public Schools, at both the middle and high school levels. Since joining BCA, he has coached varsity girls soccer, varsity boys soccer, varsity 2 girls basketball, and varsity tennis, including the 2018-19 NEPSAC GIL champions in both soccer and basketball. He is a Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Certified Coach with MIAA sport-specific certifications in soccer, basketball, and tennis, in addition to other coaching credentials. Tim’s additional interests are in music and popular philosophy and culture. He is a member of Third Baptist Church, Lawrence, MA, where he teaches children in Vacation Bible School.
