[dropcap type=”circle” color=”#ffffff” background=”#ef7f2c”]T[/dropcap]hom Stolar graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Music Education with a major in trumpet and expertise in flute and music composition. Mr. Stolar taught instrumental music, music technology, concert band, and jazz band for 20 years in the Newburyport public schools. In 2010, 2011, and 2012 his 7th and 8th grade concert band received a Gold Metal rating at the Great East Festival, and in 2005, 2006, 2007 his middle school jazz band was honored with a Gold Metal rating at the Northeast Junior Festival. In 2005 Mr. Stolar was recognized with the Edward G. Molin Award for Teaching Excellence.
Mr. Stolar also manages events, composes songs and performs in the Thom Stolar Band, which has released two CDs “You are the Way” (2002) and “Once Upon a Time” (2006). At Bradford, Thom teaches instrumental and ensemble music classes at the high school and middle school and private and semi-private lessons in trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, saxophone, and percussion. Thom and his wife live in Salem, NH and attend Center Point Community Church also in Salem, NH.
