85+ Classes — College Prep, Honors, and AP
BCA’s curriculum is designed to teach students to analyze accurately, evaluate discerningly, and act purposefully on new information and ideas. Students learn effective expression of ideas by developing strong, clear writing, speaking, rhetoric, and logic skills. They take classes in core subjects and choose electives — over 85 college preparatory, honors, and advanced placement (AP) courses are offered. With an average class size of 12 students, BCA high schoolers have the advantage of being known by their teachers, making it easier to identify any gaps in content comprehension and areas where they can accelerate their learning.
AP Capstone™ Diploma
BCA is an AP Capstone™ Diploma school — only 10% of high schools in Massachusetts offer this prestigious academic honor. AP Capstone™ is a diploma program based on two year-long AP courses — AP Seminar and AP Research — which develop skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting.
STEAM Classes
In addition to core subjects, BCA high schoolers enjoy taking science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics classes of their choosing at the college prep, honors, and AP levels, including robotics, AP biology, chemistry, and coding. Our nationally certified Atelier art program — the only program of its kind in the United States — teaches students to draw and paint using the techniques of the old masters. Theater, band, and chorus are popular, and other arts and media electives include photoshop, yearbook, photography, filmmaking, sculpting, and ceramics.
An Individualized Approach
The BCA educational experience is about more than simply integrating faith and learning — it connects a student’s gifts, academics, and faith, as they begin to understand their purpose and to explore ways to live that out as they progress through college and beyond. They’re able to build a strong academic and spiritual foundation based on individual interests and pursuits. They can be leaders in student government, serve others as part of our overseas mission team, lead worship with the chapel team, and so much more.
Championship-Winning Athletics
Our Sentinels athletic program coaches the person first and the athlete second in an effort to prepare young people for life on and off the court or field. In addition to competitive sports that teach discipline, teamwork, and skills, BCA student athletes learn important life lessons that will stay with them long after their playing days.

A Roadmap to Success
It is no surprise that 100% of our graduates are accepted to college, or that many of them are recruited by some of the best schools in the nation. We spend four years making sure they are ready to shatter expectations, thrive socially and academically, and help lead others in excellence. But we also recognize that college is not right for every student. Here is a high-level view of how we guide students down the path that best meets their career and life goals.
NINTH GRADE
Freshman students meet with the Upper School Principal to put together an individualized plan with the right level of class work, the appropriate academic and technical tracks, and engaging extracurricular activities. Utilizing Naviance ™, a premier career and college readiness program, students identify their unique interests, discover compatible careers, and plan high school and college academics to achieve their goals.
TENTH GRADE
Sophomores receive custom college guidance, including taking the PSAT. The PSAT gives students an estimate of their SAT score and valuable information regarding areas of strength and weakness for additional study, as well as qualifying students for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
ELEVENTH GRADE
College preparation intensifies during junior year with challenging classes, including AP courses, and a semester-long SAT preparation class. (Students who take the SAT preparation class score on average 150 points higher on the SAT.) Individualized college guidance continues as BCA identifies each student’s talents, interests, competencies, standardized test scores, and GPA, and discusses prospective colleges and universities and their admissions criteria. Juniors are encouraged to visit colleges they are considering to get a personal feel for each school. Students with a GPA of 3.5 and above, good character, and leadership skills are inducted into the Bradford Christian Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society.
TWELFTH GRADE
By the fall of their senior year, students have identified colleges — good fit and reach schools — with the help of our college guidance team Seniors create online college portfolios with college application deadlines, necessary forms, scholarship information, letters of recommendation, transcripts, standardized testing, and personal essays. They’re coached on proper interview techniques, attire, and etiquette. College acceptances are celebrated with our wall of pennants.

We are proud of our BCA seniors and alumni! 100% of seniors are accepted to college, 99% go on to college, and many earn scholarships that exceed the cost of BCA’s annual tuition!

Identifying interests. Aiding aspirations.
High school can be a tumultuous time for teens, which is why our curriculum, culture, and community intentionally guides students — academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We support our students by:
Teaching balance.
Knowing how to find a healthy balance is critical to one’s overall wellbeing. Through required health and wellness classes, athletics in all seasons, and PE requirements, students develop an understanding of the importance of health and exercise.
Encouraging leadership.
All BCA students enjoy opportunities to lead. Student-led clubs allow for leadership in areas of interest. Student chaplains help lead tri-weekly chapel services.
Developing their Christian character.
Faith and Christian values are integrated throughout the BCA curriculum and culture. Our athletic and arts programs focus on teamwork, practicing graceful winning and losing, and giving and taking feedback with humility. Community service is required for every high school student, teaching leadership with a servant’s heart.
