Cross Country Coach, Brenda Clark-Warne

Brenda brings nearly thirty years of coaching experience to BCA’s cross country team. Her coaching experience includes serving as head boys’ and girls’ cross country coach at Andover High School since 2015. Prior to serving as head coach, Brenda spent sixteen years as assistant coach for the same teams at Andover High School. Over her career, Brenda has also coached cross country and winter and spring distance teams at Methuen High School and two high schools in Indiana. Brenda has consistently led her teams to state and all-state titles throughout her coaching career. “I am very excited to be a part of the young cross country program at BCA. After seeing success at all levels in the Methuen/ Andover public schools for the last 27 years, I am looking forward to forging a new path with BCA’s cross country program,” she says.

A dedicated runner herself, Brenda ran competitively throughout high school and college where she was a Division I full scholarship athlete at Eastern Michigan University. During college, Brenda was Conference Champion in the 5000 meters. She held the Eastern Michigan University record in the 5000 meters until 1999. In 1996, Brenda ran a 2:51 marathon, missing the Olympic Trials qualifying time by one minute. Through her coaching role at BCA, Brenda hopes to instill in BCA’s students a commitment to running as a way of life. Brenda tells us, “It will be a fun challenge to help develop athletes who hope to see success now and who will also, hopefully, learn to love running for a lifetime.”
