At Bradford, the process of making art teaches innovation, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration. But for our teachers and students, art is much more than these actions. Making art is the expression of God’s image within us: he planted in us the drive toward creation. Our visual arts program teaches appreciation for art, the historical and cultural contexts for humanity’s greatest artworks, and instruction in producing art using a variety of media.
As students move through middle and high school they develop a personal style and a mastery of skills. Students who seek to major in art in college develop portfolios, take our class in aesthetics, and develop techniques through our Atelier art program. Bradford graduates have received admission to Montserrat College of Art, Savannah College of Art and Design, and School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
