Academic Support CoordinatorAmanda has a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College, and a Masters in Special Education from Simmons College. She previously worked at both the Landmark School and Lexington High School. Amanda is also a Patient/Family Advocate at Boston Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Program and with the CF Learning Network. In her free time, she loves to go running and is always willing to go on a fun adventure. Amanda lives in Peabody with her husband, two sons, and dog. Both of Amanda’s sons attend BCA!
Scott Sullivan

Head of the Lower SchoolScott Sullivan graduated from University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Communications. Prior to teaching Scott worked for Franciscan Children’s Hospital and D.F. Sullivan & Associates. He has also done work for the Perkins School for the Blind and coached AAU baseball. Scott has been the owner and operator of his own painting business since 2005. Scott discovered his calling to education as a Sunday school teacher at Hope Church where he has taught for the past eight years. Scott says he knows he has found his true vocation when he sees the eyes of a child light up with discovery. He is certified in Elementary Education, Grades 1-6 in MA and is pursing his dual Masters in Elementary Education and Moderate Disabilities from Gordon College. He lives in Amesbury with his wife and two children and is an active member of Hope Church in Newburyport, MA.

Alissa Zavalianos graduated from Gordon College with a B.A. in English Language and Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing. Most recently, she went to graduate school at Southern New Hampshire University to obtain her M. Ed. in K-6 General Education and K-12 Special Education. Ever since Alissa was a young girl, reading and writing have been two of her biggest passions. Now given the opportunity to share this passion with others, Alissa is incredibly excited to delve deep into dissecting literature and fine-tuning writing mechanics with her students. Her hope is that by understanding literature and engaging with personal, research-based, and persuasive writing, students will therefore have a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. Above all, Alissa seeks to promote growth and respect in the classroom, all the while encouraging students to use their unique, God-given talents to their best potential.
Sonja Williams

Sonja has her BS in Early Childhood Education from Gordon College with a concentration in Special Education. Prior to joining BCA she taught summer school for Melrose Public Schools in their integrated preschool program. Sonja did her student teaching with BCA and is excited to be back. In the classroom, she places importance on social emotional learning to help students comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate empathy for others. In her free time, Sonja enjoys reading, crafting, and gardening.
Sally Teague

Sally Teague comes to Bradford Christian Academy with experience teaching Latin at Cathedral High School and Holyoke Catholic High School in the Springfield, MA area as well as private lessons. She has found that Latin studies help students to develop a deeper understanding of many areas of life, including language, history, humanity and Christianity. She is looking forward to developing an excellent Latin program for Bradford Christian Academy.
Sally and her husband, Dave Teague, a pastor, have three grown children. They served in the Middle East for eight years, where Sally taught New Testament Greek in the Coptic Orthodox Seminary. Both also teach occasional courses for the Boston campus of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Sally’s book, A Reader’s Grammar of New Testament Greek, is nearing completion. Sally enjoys cooking and eating international food, gardening and being outside.

Previous to joining the Bradford staff, Jenneth Scharlach taught for eight years at Boxford Academy in Boxford, Massachusetts. During that time, Mrs. Scharlach taught first grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, and sixth grade classes. She also taught Latin to grades 2-8 and general music for grades K-8. At Bradford, Mrs. Scharlach teaches our 4th grade class. She is a founding member of the BCA faculty since the school’s opening in 2004. She is an active member of Byfield Parish Church in Georgetown, MA. Mrs. Scharlach grew up in Georgetown and lives there with her husband and son.
Gayle Lynch

Gayle Lynch graduated from Maryville College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She taught 2nd grade in Canton, Georgia for four years before moving to New England. Committed to helping children, Gayle has been involved in a wide variety of educational activities over the years, including teaching Sunday School and Missionettes, starting and leading a pre-school playgroup, being one of the founding families of Imajine That, and home educating her children for 10 years. She is Massachusetts certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education as well as a Highly Qualified Teacher in New Hampshire. As an experienced educator with a passion for teaching, Gayle teaches the 1stgrade class at Bradford. She is an active member of Rockingham Christian Church in Salem, NH, where she resides with her husband and three children.

Gina McKeown graduated with honors from Illinois State University with a Masters of Music and Illinois
Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Music Education. Her concentrations were Choral Education, Music Therapy and her primary instruments were piano and voice. In addition to teaching music at BCA, Gina runs a private music studio and teaches piano, voice, and ukulele to students of all ages. Gina was previously the Creative Arts Director of the Dorothea Dix Hospital Creative Arts Therapies department in Raleigh NC. In 2015, Gina co-founded the Greater Newburyport Children’s Chorus and serves currently as the Music Director, serving youth in grades 2-12. She was the Music Director of Clinton Presbyterian Church in Illinois and currently serves as a substitute pianist for area churches as needed. Gina resides in Newburyport MA with her husband, 4 children, 3 cats, and her dog.

Sue Hanscom earned a Bachelors Degree in Middle School Education and History as well as a Masters Degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Moderate Learning Disabilities all from Gordon College. As a teacher in Amesbury for 17 years, she taught Geography, Ancient and Modern World History, and US History. Sue loves to travel and enjoys sharing her love of the world through Geography classes at BCA. As a small group Bible studies leader at Hope Community Church, she developed a desire to know more about the plans and promises God has for us and is anxious to share this quest with her students.
Rebecca Fuller

Rebecca Fuller is originally from Beckley, West Virginia where she earned a B.A. in Theology from Appalachian Bible College. Continuing her education, she earned a Master of Arts degree from Marshall University in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in mathematics. In her ten years of teaching, she has had opportunities in West Virginia, Nashville, TN, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She has her teaching certification in elementary education and middle school science. Opportunities to teach in many diverse areas allowed Rebecca to learn to effectively meet the needs of every student. Her goal is to enable all students to grow in confidence and appreciation for math and science.
